(a) 性质(1)色素添加剂二氧化钛是从其他物质共存的混合物中分离精制合成得到的。
: V7 ?& o1 d- i: p8 n4 ]# Y2 J6 ?" [4 m(2) 对于着色食品,食用的色素添加剂二氧化钛可以含有适当的稀释剂,作为安全的色素添加剂,如下:二氧化硅,作为分散助剂,含量不超过2%。: Y {; n- v+ ^. k
(b)规定 二氧化钛应满足以下规定:

$ {* b$ o) f$ x3 R10g二氧化钛在50ml0.5N盐酸中煮沸15分钟,从溶液中可以得到铅、砷和锑。 l+ C( d) t/ {) p, w8 Z( [
(c) 使用和限量。色素添加剂二氧化钛可以安全用于一般着色食品中,服从下列规定:, l' D5 C+ _6 E4 W
(1) 二氧化钛的数量不超过食物重量的1%。! v2 M( O0 p% p4 K) D6 @
(2) 按照法令的401条所公布的特殊标准,不得使用的着色食品,除非有类似的标准允许添加色素。' x- F# o: w& G
标签。色素添加剂和任何单独混合物或者某部分为了着色都应该按照本章70.25的要求。( d1 Z# N, A2 B5 X
免除证明。为了维护公众的健康而对这种色素进行证明是不必要的,此法令的721部分其中有一批免除了证明。

(b) Identity. (1) The color additive titanium dioxide is synthetically prepared TiO2, free from admixture with other substances.
: B& @: `5 ] D(c) (2) Color additive mixtures for food use made with titanium dioxide may contain only those diluents that are suitable and that are listed in this subpart as safe in color additive mixtures for coloring foods, and the following: Silicon dioxide, SiO2, as dispersing aids--not more than 2 percent total. 2 D# W- r9 O7 T# x" n9 M2 e+ ~
(b) Specifications. Titanium dioxide shall conform to the following specifications: : I- o+ Z3 ^0 L- ]
Lead (as Pb), not more than 10 parts per million.
& j9 @( S. [5 a% QArsenic (as As), not more than 1 part per million. * t8 P9 E% P7 y4 H
Antimony (as Sb), not more than 2 parts per million.
# _3 ~% q$ q( P5 s' }Mercury (as Hg), not more than 1 part per million.
+ Y" `# J2 D8 H( p, \4 S4 R/ `4 nLoss on ignition at 800 deg. C. (after drying for 3 hours at 105 deg. C.), not more than 0.5 percent.

TiO2, not less than 99.0 percent after drying for 3 hours at 105 deg. C.
# ?2 [% g# {2 }) k9 iLead, arsenic, and antimony shall be determined in the solution obtained by boiling 10 grams of the titanium dioxide for 15 minutes in 50 milliliters of 0.5N hydrochloric acid。
2 t) ^. R) \8 t# f(c) Uses and restrictions. The color additive titanium dioxide may be safely used for coloring foods generally, subject to the following restrictions: & e) i* g" F* H; ?7 |
(1) The quantity of titanium dioxide does not exceed 1 percent by weight of the food. 1 \6 h9 Y9 X% R, M! U
(2) It may not be used to color foods for which standards of identity have been promulgated under section 401 of the act unless added color is authorized by such standards. % W9 t3 g/ u- d* j$ i
(d) Labeling. The label of the color additive and any mixtures intended solely or in part for coloring purposes prepared therefrom shall conform to the requirements of 70.25 of this chapter.
' K7 j$ z) p1 f5 ~% `0 g8 @- d(e) Exemption from certification. Certification of this color additive is not necessary for the protection of the public health and therefore batches thereof are exempt from the certification requirements of section 721(c) of the act.
